Set in a futuristic, cyber-esque version of the real-life holy Indian city of Varanasi. The film follows Bhairava, a bounty hunter played by Prabhas, known for hits like Bahubali films and the recent hit Salaar, part 1 — Cease Fire. He is tasked with hunting down the one, aka the Messiah, who will bring change in their suffering war-torn world.

Bhairava, in the process, unknowingly apprehends Padma, the mother of the messiah who is yet to be born, played by Deepika Padukone, seen in Hollywood films like “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” (2017), tarring alongside Vin Diesel. Bhairava realises his true self-worth, and he rises to the occasion.

Later, we are introduced to Amitabh Bachchan’s character “Ashwatthama”, an immortal warrior from the Mahabharata era, blessed with immortality by Lord Shiva, adding a mythological layer to the narrative.
