DREAM CAST TO REMAKE MY FAVE KOREAN DRAMA

POPCORN SERIES PH

I bet you would agree with me that ABSCBN is the best network to remake top Korean Dramas that rocked our world. It really invaded the Philippines!

While there are articles that already featured filipino actors that would best fit the roles of our all time-favorite KDRAMA Characters, I have my own choice. I hope I would get a nod from my mutuals if you agree with my line-up.

I challenge Dreamscape and Star Creatives to do a remake of the following series which I think everyone’s — majority, if not all — top 3 KDRAMAs so far.

GOBLIN

Kim Shin “Goblin” (Gong Yoo) — Pinoy Remake: Zanjoe Marudo

I see some netizens pitching Piolo Pascual as our Pinoy Goblin but I beg to differ. Let’s not forget that more than just the mushy-feels, we also laugh our ass off while watching Goblin and that’s because of Gong Yoo’s effortless comic-relief. Zanjoe can do drama (without a doubt) and can pull his comedian-self (hello, banana split!).

Ji Eun- Tak “Goblin’s Bride” (Kim Go-Eun) — Pinoy Remake: Alex Gonzaga or Erich Gonzales

Cosmo nailed it when they cast Erich as our pinoy Eun-Tak. It has to be someone who can depict a high-schooler (without doing too much physical adjustment) and can also portray a 29-year old Eun Tak given the 10-year time lapse. Alex Gonzaga could be a good choice as well as she can perfectly portray the playful Eun-Tak.

Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-Wook) — Pinoy Remake: Xian Lim

If I am pitching Zanjoe to play Goblin, Grim Reaper has to be of the same height as Z hence Xian Lim. But don’t get me wrong, it’s not just about the height, I believe Xian can deliver that innocent, gullible, charming demeanor of Grim Reaper. I am excited to see the bantering between Xian and Z plus the bromance that we all fell in love with. :)

Sunny (Yoo In-Na) — Pinoy Remake: Anne Curtis

Anne Curtis is all I imagine to play the role of Sunny. Sophisticated, humorous, attractive, tender-hearted… Anne will definitely nail this character. Remember the scene when Sunny sings ‘Ave Maria’ to rebuke the ghost inside her chicken restaurant (though it’s Grim Reaper), imagine Anne singing it. LOL! I bet she’ll do a comic spin of ‘Ave Maria.’

DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN

Captain Yoo Si-Jin “ Big Boss” (Song Joong-Ki) — Pinoy Remake: James Reid or Gerald Anderson

Your modern-day Pedro Penduko is a good candidate to portray Big Boss’ role. James Reid can do action with his short-stint as the reckless Top of Talk Back and You’re Dead as part of his portfolio. Yoo Si-Jin is also charming and James can do that pa-cute, deadly stare all day (have you seen that Cosmo BTS?). Si-Jin’s eyes whenever he cries or stares at Doctor Kang is a killer and I believe James has the most expressive eyes as an actor. (Who misses Clark Medina?)

Let’s talk about action movies or series and Gerald Anderson’s name would be part of your honorable list. As compared to James, I think it would be seamless for Gerald to do those action scenes given his body-built and experience.

Doctor Kang Mo-yeon “Beauty (Song Hye- Kyo) — Pinoy Remake: Nadine Lustre

Doctor Kang is beautiful, tough, smart, independent, strong-willed, witty, a bit quirky and PALABAN! She doesn’t take a sh*t from anyone. I imagine Nadine Lustre sporting her hello-bangsie look and that voice of command as head doctor of Haesung Hospital Medical Service Team. Nadine has a nice physique enough to make her land a role that requires action. I see her as an actress who doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty. In short, hindi siya pabebe.

Master Sergeant Seo Dae-Young “Wolf” (Jin-Goo) — Pinoy Remake: Arjo Atayde

Sergeant Seo Dae-young’s role is quite melodramatic because of his struggle with Myung-ju’s father. Arjo has experience staging big action scenes (thanks to Ang Probinsyano). He’s one of those underrated drama actors who have big potential given the right project. I think staging this one would be a good follow-up material for Arjo and this will help him veer away from his Kontrabida role as Joaquin of AP.

First Lieutenant Yoon Myung-Ju (Kim Ji-Won) — Pinoy Remake: Bela Padilla.

For me Myung-ju is attractive, authoritative, rebellious and quite flirty as a lover. I am pitching Bela Padilla for this role as she can be astig and girlie at the same time.

Supporting Characters:

Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo for Park Hwan-Hee and Kim Min Seok

Isn’t cute to do a love-story for these two characters? I hope this would be something different that DOTS pinoy remake can offer on top of its actual plot.

Alessandra De Rossi and Empoy for Seo Jeong-yeon and Lee Seung-Joon

You know what I am thinking. Let’s not put Empoy as just another sidekick. Alempoy is the best love-team to portray the long overdue, unique romance of these two doctors.

WEIGHTLIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO

Kim Bok-joo (Lee Sung-kyung) — Pinoy Remake: Liza Soberano

Think of an actress who is still beautiful no matter how much she crumples her face. Yes. It’s Liza Soberano. We see a lot of gym sessions of Liza as she prepares to reprise Darna and we couldn’t help but imagine her as our very own Weightlifting Fairy! There’s this scene on My Ex and Why’s when Cali (Liza) gave Gio (Quen) a deadly stare when a sexy girl approached him. I imagine how Liza can pull off that jealous bok-joo scene! “YOU DIE! I’LL KILL YOU!”

Jung Joon-hyung (Nam Joo-hyuk) — Pinoy Remake: Enrique Gil

Not that I am joining the love-team bandwagon, but I really imagine Enrique to do this role. Joon Hyung is a bit childish, quirky… malikot.. and all I see is the king of the Gil!

Jung Jae-yi (Lee Jae-yoon) — Pinoy Remake: Sam Milby

Nothing much to justify but I think it’s more convincing to have him as Jae-yi — the good boy, good looking brother of Joon Hyung, who loves music.

Song Shi-ho (Kyung Soo-jin) — Pinoy Remake: Jasmine Curtis

I know that she’s not a KAPAMILYA… yet. But I personally want Jasmine to get this role (blame it to her stint in I’m Drunk I Love You as Patthyyyy). She could be a darling and a bitch at the same time… like Shi Ho.

There you have it. What do you think about my line-up? Feel free to share and tag Dreamscape or Star Creatives if you want your faves (same as mine) to remake these KDRAMA Series. :)
