Game Of Thrones — Beyond the Wall

The penultimate episode of Game of Thrones season 7 started with the suicide squad that Jon put together, for the most stupid mission ever, on their trip up North.

The best thing of this whole opening scene was Tormund and The Hound conversation about Briane. Seriously, that was the funniest exchange in the whole series. “I want to make babies with her. Massive babies that’ll conquer the world!”.

The moment between Jon and Jorah was also great. Jon was really thoughtful when he offered to give Longclaw to Jorah but he did not accept it and said he is not worth of it. Very humble of him.

I’m honestly shocked that out of that whole battle, only 1 out of the Magnificent Seven died. That battle was brutal and they were so outnumbered. Jon entire plan to capture a wight and bring it to Westeros was completely nonsensical and reckless.

Great scene with Tyrion and Daenerys. I loved how she said that she likes Tyrion because he is not trying to be a hero. And she is right about that. Almost all wanna be heroes ended up dead so far in this show. It was also really good to hear Tyrion explaining to Dany that there is no point to simply burn down everything on her path to become a Queen. And that if she rules by fear will only make everyone bellow her resent her. I also think that the succession talk that Tyrion brought up was a sign of things to come. “Only death can pay for life.” After her dragon died, maybe Dany can now have a child? Anyway, It was good to see Tyrion doing the job that he was hired for. Some things he said was exactly what Dany needed to hear. Advise her is a very difficult job and she can be very stubborn sometimes but he did a good job at that scene.

Next time we see Tyron and Dany she was about to impulsively jump on Drogon’s back and head north to help Jon and the others. I honestly didn’t understand why she took all 3 dragons with her. Drogon alone would probably do the trick.

Dany makes in time to save the brave/stupid men and the image of her dragons literally touching the walkers was awesome. But not everything worked well for Dany. One of her dragons, Viserion, was hit by a spear that The Night King threw at him and died.

RIP Viserion!

Back in Witerfell, I’m still trying to understand the Arya character arc. I’m really hoping she is pulling some kind of double-cross on Littlefinger. The whole situation between the sisters is annoying the hell out of me. Sansa move of sending Briane away made no sense and I hope she is working with Arya to finally take down Littefinger.

The way that Dany and Jon look at each other… She saw his scars, how brave and selfless he is and he finally decided to bend the knee after she showed up to save him and the others. This will definitely end with incest.

The white walkers have a dragon now. They’re going to fuck shit up next season.

This wasn’t the best Game Of Thrones episode and this whole season feels rushed and lazily written. But I can’t wait to see what is going to happened next week in the season finally.

Preacher — Dirty Little Secrets

Oh boy, this show is everything I aways hoped it would be. So good!

This episode opened with Jesus porn. No seriously, a couple was having sex and the woman was yelling “Oh Jesus” because you know, she was actually having sex with the son of God guy. It was very graphic and I loved it. But I can only imagine how many people will be mad about that. AMC will probably receive some very angry emails.

And of course they made Jesus a chill dude type. I found that hilarious for some reason. He is basically the original hipster. Preacher has confirmed it.

We also witnessed what 2,000 years of inbreeding can do — Humperdoo is a very freak looking guy. And he is not very smart, too.

I’m kinda of over this Tulip PTSD arc. I hope she gets back to herself soon. She is dragging down the show.

Dennis is being a menace. I said this before and I will say it again: Eventually, Cassidy is going to have to put his son down because he cannot control him.

So, the guy in the dog costume from the second episode may be God. We were left with this impression because the stupid Jesus child, have been drawing a lot of pictures of a Dalmatian dog. That would be really funny if turn out to be true.

Side Note:
Tyson Ritter, the lead singer of the band All American Rejects, played Jesus and Humperdoo. The band is known for the song, Dirty Little Secrets, which is also the name of the episode.

Only 3 episodes left.

Snakes On A Plane

Snakes on a Plane is one of those fun, must see in theaters type movies. I watched it on the night of its release in a packed movie theater in London back in 2006. And it was one of the best theater experiences I’ve ever had.

The movie itself was one huge absurdness. The filmmakers knew they had a cheeseball on

their hands, and they spun it into pure gold.

This movie is not supposed to be taken seriously!

I remember this flick had so much hype on the internet before its release.
It was generating a huge amount of buzz on Myspace and YouTube, due to the sheer absurdity of the whole concept. It was inevitably going to be a cult hit.

The line “Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!” was originated by fans in an anticipatory Internet parody of the movie. So the producers went back and shot a scene with the line after they have wrapped the production and added it in.

The internet sure knows how to write a movie.

Snakes on a Plane may be very stupid title. But right out of the gate, you know you are in for a dumb fun ride for a movie. I am not promising a cinematographic masterpiece; just pure fun and entertainment.
One of the best terrible movies ever made. If you haven’t checked yet, please

Wednesday
Snowfall — Baby Teeth

Decent episode. At least now they are finally showing us crackheads and crack dealers.

But hold on, Franklin took the Crack to Avi and he had no interest in it. But they did not show such important scene? Once again the show omitted an important scene from the viewers. This is totally out of hand now

Honest question? Does anyone give a flying fuck about Teddys storyline ? Because I certainly don’t. Although, he dancing in this episode was pretty funny.

Pedro is such a snitch ass bitch. When he felt threatened by Gustavo and Lucia relationship, he went crying to daddy and rat them out. What an asshole!

Even when he was shot, and basically dying, Leon’s looking out. And seriously Franklin, hiding crack in a police officer daughter’s room is not a smart move.

Thursday
The Hitman’s Bodyguard

The Hitman’s Bodyguard has a straightforward plot. A special protection agent (Ryan Reynolds) is tasked with guarding the life of his mortal enemy, who is one of the world’s most notorious hitmen (Samuel L. Jackson). Stupid, but fun. The movie has all the cliches of a action/comedy flick but it’s still entertaining at times.

Jackson and Reynolds have so much chemistry. That and the humor were the few good things of the film. Salma Hayek was also spectacular. The scenes she is in are bombshells. Her and Jackson love story origin is a instant classic. The same cannot be said about Gary Oldman. He was completely wasted in this movie. His character is just a a stereotypical bad guy. Shame!

That major problem here is that The Hitman’s Bodyguard feels like a
generic film aimed at the ‘foreign market AKA China. Which is a very large emerging market where a lot of people are just starting to watch movies. And for them, these kind of movies aren’t clichéd.

Overall the movie is watchable, but forgettable. Lower your expectations if you want to have some fun watching it!

Friday
The backlash of Taylor Swift’s new song — Look What You Made Me Do.

So, Taylor Swift dropped a new single Thursday night. And the reactions to Look What You Made Me Do, specially on Twitter, were hilarious.

The song apparently is a diss to Kim Kardashian & Kanye West and also declares that the “old Taylor” is officially “dead.”

I spent a good chunk of my Friday reading people tearing the song and Taylor apart. And even though I don’t dislike her, I have to say, I had a blast doing it. Check some of these mean tweets:

And have a look on what the good people from The Ringer and Vox had to say about the song.

My Opinion about all of this?
Well, I’ve listened to the song a couple of times, I think it is really weak in both music and message. All these feuds feel so manufactured. And honestly, I don’t want to hear about the struggles of a multi millionaire Pop Start. But I’m not the world’s biggest Taylor fan and I’m pretty sure her target demographic will eat it right up. She will be just fine.

Saturday
Halt and Catch Fire - Miscellaneous

What an incredible episode. The show is firing on all cylinders. It is a shame that this is the last season.

I can’t see Joe and Cameron living together in harmony. They may love each other, but they just can’t live under the same roof.

I like Donna’s character, but she is so full of shit in this season.
Her dismissive statements are unbelievable. Her dinner party scene had Michael Scott levels of cringe. I think this season will be a lot about her redemption, though. She already stole the search engine idea from Gordon and now she is about to get into a fierce competition with him, Joe, and Haley. At some point she’ll have to make a decision, crush them or step down from her position at the company. Her dilemma will be, what is more important, her own career or her daughter?

I think that her decision to do the right thing, and don’t crush the competition, will be what causes her downfall. She’ll probably lose her position with the company.

The tension between Donna and Cameron whenever they have a scene together is huge.

The video game convention was another example of this tension . That was an awful thing for Donna to do to Cameron. Cameron handled it well and hit back pretty good. But truth is, Cameron is also a very difficult person to deal with. She is incredibly stubborn and uncompromising. And many of the issues between her and Donna were because of that. But I think that Donna should just let it go.

The final scene of the episode was all about Cameron being a drama queen. Unpacking into a dumpster? Really? I understand that she just want to move on with her life and forget about Japan, her ex husband and the her failed game. But I bet she could use some stuff on those boxes.

And damn! Two week wait because of Labor Day weekend. That sucks.
