Introducing “Citizen Cards” & “Pods”

We’re very excited to introduce Citizen Cards and Pods, a new way for many more people to become a part of Portals and our upcoming Metaverse City (“Downtown”). We’re looking forward to expanding our amazing community!

If you don’t already own an Ivory, Onyx, or Vision Card (Portals Real Estate NFTs), then owning a Citizen Card will allow you to do more in Portals and have access to a Pod. Here are some of the benefits for all Citizen Cards:

Early access to Portals Downtown. In the beginning, only holders of a Portals NFT will be able to explore and interact in Portals Downtown.
Grants access to your own personal space (Pod). See the section about the Pod later in the article.
More future access in the Portals Discord. Get “priority” for events in Portals Downtown, be a part of the Portals Community, and more.
Access to features in Portals that will require a Citizen Card. More to be announced along with the opening of Downtown.

The 3 types of Citizen Cards:

“Genesis” cards
- Will be the OG and limited Portals Citizen Cards
- Limited supply of 10000 cards
- Has the numbers 1–10000
- Has a uniquely designed Pod (to be revealed)
- Might have other benefits
“Standard” cards
- Have numbers 10000+
- No cap on future possible supply
- There are however only 35000 cards now, but we want to be transparent that supply could increase over the coming months or years. Get one for the utility and to be a part of Portals, not for price speculation.
“Partner” cards
- In collaboration with Partners
- Can be themed with Partner branding

How to get a Citizen Card?

If you are a Portals NFT holder (Ivory, Onyx, or Vision cards), then you will get multiple Citizen Cards for free. If not, then they will be available to buy on secondary marketplaces. You can see the release schedule below here.

Initially, there’s a total of 50000 Citizen Cards released over February and the following months. Here’s the current schedule:

“Genesis” Cards first 5000: Available now on marketplaces (MagicEden here)
“Standard” Cards: Available now on marketplaces (MagicEden here)
“Genesis” Cards last 5000: TBA
“Partner” Cards: TBA

Pod & Features

All Citizen Cards will grant you access to a “Pod”, which will be your own space in the Portals Metaverse where you can invite people over, voice chat, display your NFTs and collectibles, and arrange your room.

When are Pods launching?
Access to Pods in the Portals Metaverse will be launching in April and all you need is a Citizen Card NFT.
