Introducing Portals Districts
Earlier this year, as part of the Portals Roadmap 2.0, we announced “Districts”. What we are announcing today is that, but even better than what we initially had in mind.
Over the past months, we’ve spent a lot of time working with hundreds of creators, communities, and companies building and hosting experiences in Portals. Many features, utility, and builder tools have been added, and now everything will be tied together.
The first live preview was shown to the Portals community in Downtown:
What is a Portals District?
It’s your own open area in the city where almost anything is possible.
It’s a large enough area for creators and communities to build together.
It’s a great way for companies to build connected spaces and experiences.
It’s ideal for Metaverse Studios to bring in clients/brands easily.
It’s for builders who want to let their imagination run wild.
There’s so many opportunities, and we’ll be sharing
Who can build a District?
All Portals Ivory, Onyx, and Vision NFT holders can build a District or join forces with others.
There will be different possibilities (or limitations if you will) depending on which NFT you hold.
What can I do?
You can place buildings, signage, storefronts, or assemble new things and structures from scratch with the ever-advancing Portals builder tools (like the new Building Cubes!).
You’ll be able to create entry points (portals/doors) to other interior spaces you own (Ivory, Onyx, or Vision spaces) or are owned by other creators, communities, and companies you share a district with.
When is Districts launching?
The first holders will get access to “Districts Beta” within a few days! We expect all holders to have access to “Districts Beta” in September, e.g. over the next 1–2 weeks!
