Portis now compatible with POA Network

Sidechains are a great way of getting around current issues with gas price and network speeds on the Ethereum mainnet. So we made sure Portis users can also use DApps that run on the POA Network 🚀

The POA Network is a sidechain to Ethereum utilizing Proof of Authority as its consensus mechanism. POA provides developers with the flexibility to code in Ethereum standards with the added benefits of POA Network’s solutions to scalability and interoperability in blockchain networks.

And if you thought Ethereum transactions were cheap and fast compared to other blockchains, POA will blow you away. Gas prices cost fractions of a cent and confirmation times are lightning fast ⚡️

We’re excited to announce that DopeRaider, the awesome underground RPG, will be using Portis on the POA Network!

To use Portis with your DApp on POA, simply pass the relevant POA network name you want to work with as the network parameter when initializing PortisProvider:

web3 = new Web3(new PortisProvider({
    network: 'sokol'
}));

Or just pass along the url of your preferred POA network provider node:

web3 = new Web3(new PortisProvider({
    providerNodeUrl: 'https://sokol.poa.network'
}));

That’s it.
