Hugging and the effect on our health
There is much to say about the influence of touch and cuddling on our health. The touch of another person brings relief, relieves tension, accelerates the healing of wounds. It helps in treating diseases such as asthma or hypertension. It affects us from the beginning: newborn babies, which are often cuddled and stroked, develop faster. We owe the touch to a better mood because who, cuddling to a loved one, does not forget about their problems for a moment?

The positive effect of hugging is the result of secretion of oxytocin, called the hormone of touch and attachment. The production of a significant amount of this hormone takes place just when we cuddle and stroke. At the same time, at such moments the tension drops as a result of the action of oxytocin, the amount of produced cortisol, called stress hormone, decreases. So if you feel that everything is not going according to your thoughts, the deadlines are chasing you, and the stress doesn’t allow you to collect your thoughts cuddle up to the person close to you.
