When the weather warms up and the sun shines, it’s time to play outside with your toddler. What better way than by playing summer sports and games together? Seven fun games will get you and your child smiling and sweating.

Waterballoon toss
A water balloon toss is the best way to cool yourself on a hot summer day. Fill a bunch of balloons, grab a partner, and see how long you can hold them up without dropping them. Beware — this game is difficult. You may get wet!

Mini golf
Mini golf is a timeless summer sport that teaches hand-eye coordination to toddlers. Who doesn’t enjoy getting the ball through the windmill or across the bridge?

Frisbee
Frisbee is a fun game you and your toddler can play outside. Try playing catch after throwing the frisbee back and forth. Don’t be surprised if your child uses the frisbee as a hat.

Soccer
Playing soccer with your toddler in the backyard or park is fun and uncomplicated. Start by kicking the ball back and forth, then score some goals. Expect cute goal celebrations.

Hopscotch
Toddlers love hopscotch. Chalk a hopscotch board on the sidewalk and challenge your child to leap from square to square without hitting the lines. It enhances balance and coordination.

Red-green light
Red light, green light will make your youngster giggle and run. One person is the “stoplight,” and everyone else lines up on the starting line. The stoplight says “green light!” and everyone runs to the finish. The stoplight’s “red light!” stops everyone. Anyone who moves after the red light must start over.

T-ball
T-ball introduces toddlers to baseball. Have your child hit a tee. Use a rolled-up towel or cardboard if you don’t have a tee. It’s fun if your child runs to third base instead of first.
