Congrats on your progress this year, Courtney! I’ve been struggling with similar questions myself, and this essay really resonated. I too have not figured out the answer to how feasibly I can reconcile body positivity with my own fitness goals and motivations, but I suspect body positivity is most effective as a 1:1 approach. That is, if I understand my close friends well and understand their fitness goals and motivations, I can be a supportive (and body-positive) friend to them, regardless of how their goals might align with my own.
