Benefits Parents don’t know about

There are many benefits to video games. It improves your hand to eye coordination. It helps you in situation when you need to problem solve because lots of games people play require you to think about what you are doing. It also helps your memory because in many game you play you must memorize where something is to go back to it later in the game.

What Parents Think

Simple answer is that they want them to finish their homework first and they believe that it may take away from the child’s time to study. That may be true in many cases but if the student did finish homework and studied a little bit the parents should be fine, but they still aren’t. Parents who don’t let their kids play video games don’t understand all the benefits that they give you. Most parents believe that video games can’t help in any situation especially when it comes to school.

“it might liven up the place to have a game that people could play, which would convey the message that our scientific endeavors have relevance for society” (Higinbotham).
