Fourth option: make single-payer so popular that even Republicans vote for it, like they did Medicare. This isn’t as far-fetched as it seems at first when you realize 52% of Republicans making less than $30,000 now say the federal government has an obligation to ensure coverage, a huge jump from 31% just last year.
Getting more Democrats elected is just part of the solution. The bigger task is getting more people making $30,000 a year or less to vote. When people come out to vote, Democrats win; when people stay home, Democrats lose.
