Introducing: ‘Speech Bubbles’

Back in the spring, Chris Faraone asked me if I wanted to do a comic strip for a new publication he was working on. I didn’t know Chris personally (just through Twitter and newspaper pages), or when the deadline was, or even what the publication was about — but my answer was a definite yes.

Then he sent me a rough draft of Boston Bubble and it’s mission statement:

“We are for commerce but against hype, psyched for innovation without believing that development inevitably breeds progress.”

As a lifelong Cantabrigian, it resonated with me.

My new Bubble comic strip is called Speech Bubbles. And the topic of my first strip is—you guessed it—Cambridge! Well, people being priced out of Cambridge to be exact.

Enjoy!

Speech Bubbles will appear quarterly in Boston Bubble. The first issue is out now, so look for it around town! If you’re interested in purchasing a subscription to, or learning more about Bubble, visit here.
