This is a right-wing newspaper. Even they acknowledge that the missionary activities were accusing Indian cults of inhumane treatment toward women and lower castes. Go read about Vivekananda's speech and its objective; he was attacking the Christian faith in the World Religion Meeting. This was a counter-revolution of upper castes to counter Christian missionary works and modelled the Arya Samaj after copying their same style with some reforms and thus avoid criticism. Of course it also contains anti-colonial spirit but the tools they used to counter was wrong.
