So much to do, so little time

So I moved to a new city. The first month has been a bit of a ride. First, there’s the culture shock. Then there’s the language barrier. I always knew that the language was going to be a challenge, but I never considered the fact that I’d have to give up on being funny! It’s strange when people don’t share the same cultural context that you’ve grown up with and all of a sudden all your jokes lose meaning. It looks like I’m going to have to learn how to woo women all over again.

Ah well, that’s only one of the things that I’m looking forward to doing through this year. With the prerequisite courses at my uni almost over, it’s time for me to start thinking about how I want to make the most out of my opportunities at business school. An interesting speaker got me charged about working to build my own startup, so there’s that. Then there are sports. The first month in this new city has been full of eating and drinking undertaken to turn my attention away from the emotional pangs of relocation. I’ve put on weight, so there will have to be sports.

And dancing. One of the most fun things I discovered last year but have been forced to give it up for the moment. There’s no way I’m not starting that again. Oh and did I talk about actually learning a new language? There’s that too.

So much to do, so little time.
