Words Untold

It was bitter
It was cold,
upbeat your tongue-
bleeding words untold.

Was I worth one mistake?
Was misery too much to fake?
Not once, not twice-
My apologies never suffice,
for my heart precedes my mind,
Neither peace nor death I find.

Years of faith,
years of trust;
lost in a blink,
broken, left to rust.

Was it ever real?
Was it ever true?
The love we brew,
the care we grew-
fallen, forfeit forever,
in pieces, all but over.

Shaken and shattered
dreams they lie battered,
my tears they unfold
bleeding words untold.
