Say that you enter the grocery store looking for that perfect bottle of wine for the upcoming special occasion. You pass the shelf with the value wine bottles and make your way down to the high-end stuff, where you’re then deciding between two bottles. Yes, there’s a label on each bottle that you can read to get the gist of the difference between each one, but you want to know more. You could obviously Google the wine and read up further on it from your smartphone, but that’s not exactly convenient. Right? But what if you could scan a special 2D barcode on the label with your smartphone and have the wine actually talk to you?

It comes as no surprise that your product is vital. But, the way it’s delivered to the marketplace is becoming increasingly relevant for customers. Even an SME can get benefits from a unique and memorable expression of brand identity.

One way to refresh the look of your product offering is as simple as redesigning the label on an existing product or producing a sleeve that slides over a current package to create a festive holiday look. A well-designed product label not only helps attract the attention of prospective customers, but it also makes a statement about your brand, playing a role in building your brand identity.

There are many reasons why the appearance of your product’s label is crucial to your business’ growth. The main reason is that an outstanding label helps your product and brand stand out from the rest on the shelf. Another important reason is that labels have a role in influencing shoppers’ buying decisions. Even customers who are undecided about a potential purchase can be convinced to buy your product based on an appealing label.

According to a study done on the purchaser’s behaviour, 1 in 10 people switched brands while shopping in the store. What can be the reason behind it? The various findings suggest that your brand’s success depends a lot upon your product’s presentation, making label design vital.

Digitization continues to transform industries, but, within the labelling industry, it is one of the areas most set to benefit. As recently as 10 years ago, many companies outsourced their label production to label bureaus — an expensive and complex process that could only be afforded by larger organisations. Now the focus is on simplification and ease of use. And labels are needed for all types of industries, pharmaceuticals, food, clothes and supply chain to name just a few of them.
