So here, I am going to tell you about the raw and wildest side of Delhi which I observed in a month long stay. First of all the cover photo is of connaught circle which is considered to be the center of Delhi, that’s why the cover line is also “from the heart of Delhi”.
I have been to almost every part of Delhi from urban to rural to old, but old Delhi is the city which will make you feel like you are in Delhi. A hundred year old markets, houses, shops and people will make you down to earth Indian. I think Delhi has the right to be capital. It has got almost every culture of the world to every people of it.
The places here are crazy. This is definitely a whole new and wonderful experience for people who like to know India from the start. So much hush and hurry in people and you could find shops of size like 5x5 feet in a street in which barely a healthy man would dare to enter. The most fascinating thing is every market here is deemed to be Asia’s biggest market whether it is of camera or computers or lights.
If you are a eating buff then I assure you that paranthewali gali is insanely amazing. The waiter running names of 100 paranthas in a minute seems like a guiness show. A personal recommendation is badamwala parantha, once you taste it, you will be all over it.
I know the idea is copied but it is worth copying. You all must have drink the famous jal jeera or lemon soda from one of these guys definitely because they make it so amazing that it may beat city’s best mocktail too. His name is sarkar and he is doing this job since when he was 8 years old. I asked him what he likes about his job then he told that when you see a person getting beat out in the Delhi’s heat and then a glass of cold water seeping through dry, barren throat doing wonders and the expression of that person at that time make my job worth.
Remember, Delhi is one the most congested city of the world and lord of the traffic so, get your metro cards charged.
Because Delhi metro is considered to be the best in the world and it has done wonders by connecting whole of Delhi and making transportation the cheapest as possible.
And don’t forget it is the capital, the pride, the land of the martyrs. People who have laid their lives to protect this country against all odds.
After all its a thousand years old place, where from Mughals to Lodhis all have ruled, so you can find a hell lot of historical monuments here, but this one Ugrasen ki Baoli is not mentioned anywhere and is the underdog of all monuments. Remember its haunted too.
One more cool thing about Delhi is, it really likes to mess the art. You can find amazing graffiti art in the downs of Hauz Khas and a lot of art exhibitions in Indian Habitat Center and Connaught Place. Hauz Khas is like the most mysterical place and best to hangout in bars and pubs. It has got lots of things going underground which you will find through contacts only. A must visit place for Mumbaikars.
Last but not the least, everyone knows this place and I have got only a piece to say about it that you can find whole of Delhi here.. Seriously!!
