Why I chose to write about technology platforms
I am simultaneously intrigued, amazed and inspired by technology platforms.
This is how the web chooses to define the term -

While this may be true, the term has grown to mean a lot more. The technology platform has fundamentally changed business thinking. It has spawned countless products and business models. Regardless of form, all technology platforms have one thing in common — they are a source of competitive advantage. They allow companies to aggregate demand and supply, scale rapidly and position themselves in such a way as to capture a disproportionate share of the value chain
I read about technology every single day. I’m inspired by thinkers like Horace Dediu, Ben Thompson, Ben Evans, Fred Wilson and others. As I grow in to a career in technology I want to learn how to think about and analyze technology in a scientific and data-driven way. Just reading and thinking about it isn't enough. I need to synthesize my thoughts and apply the things I learn to world around me.
This is why I choose to write. I write about technology with a focus on technology platforms. Using publicly available data, I analyze established platforms such as Google, Facebook, Apple, Twitter, Amazon , emerging ones such as Uber, Airbnb and others that will emerge in today’s fast changing world. Each post that I write will focus on one specific aspect and rely heavily on data.
I hope you find what I have to say interesting. More than anything, I really look forward to the insightful discussions that these posts will catalyze.
