An Outing To Chiang Mai Zoo

A visit to the Chiang Mai Zoo is sure to make your day really fun with your family! You get to see loads of animals from around the world and also quite a few from northern Thailand. Chiang Mai Zoo is a 200-acre zoo full of different animals. It was the first commercial zoo in northern Thailand. It’s around two-three kilometres from Think Park.

Price and Food

It costs 150 baht for an adult and 70 baht for children as an entry fee. If you pay 30 baht extra, you get a bus ride rather than walking all around. You need to pay extra to visit the aquarium or to see the pandas. There are a lot of restaurants where you get Thai and continental foods. Other than that you also get crisps, chips and cold drinks.

Animals

The zoo is home to 400 animal species which includes swans, penguins, seals, hippos, flamingos, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, camels, bears, pandas, tigers, sheep and many other types of reptiles. It also represents the only rhino in Thailand. There are also a lot of different birds species. Other special attractions of the zoo are a walk-through aviary, a freshwater aquarium and a snow dome. Many of the exhibits let visitors get up close and personal with animals from all around the world, you’ll also get the chance to feed a few.

Where else to go
Quite close to the zoo is Think Park and there is also a shopping mall called Maya. There are loads of restaurants, information centres and other shops around think park.
