GOLKONDA FORT

Golconda, also known as Golkonda or Golla konda (“shepherd’s hill”), a fort of Southern India and capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi dynasty (c.1518–1687), is situated 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) west of Hyderabad. It is also a tehsil of Hyderabad district, Telangana, India. The region is known for the mines that have produced some of the world’s most famous gems.

TARAMATHI PALACE

Taramati Baradari is a historical sarai as part of Ibrahim Bagh, a Persian style garden built during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah, the second Sultan of Golconda.

The Baradari was constructed on the banks of the Musi river. Today, the region comes under the city limits of Hyderabad, India.

ARMOURY

This is a pucoa three stroyed building to left hand side of the entrance into gate of Bala Hisar, where armoury such as small cannons and gunes cannon balls etc used to be kept. They can be seen even to day To the south of this armoury there is a well built it is historical well it is in this well into which is 1687 AD when alamgir had captured Golconda.

TOMB OF HAYAT BAGSHI BEGUM

The tomb of Hayat Bakshi Begum, the wife of 6th Qutb Shah Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah and daughter of 5th Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, was built in 1616 and it is actually the only one of the prominent tombs in the necropolis belonging to a woman.

THE MOSQUE OF IBRAHIM QULI QUTUB SHAH

This Mosque is one of the time of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah Behind this Mosque, to the Western side there is a special bodyguard line Afew steps beyond this mosque, to the east there is an arch from where one can see the Golconda fort.

CURTAIN WALL

Opposite to the gate of the Bala Hisar, there is a curtain wall in times of war the movements of the enemy were observed and checked from behind this wall.

THE JAIL OF RAMDAS

Kancherla Gopanna is known as Bhagat Ramdas. He was the Tahsildar of Bhadrachalam during the rule of Abul Hasan Tana Shah (1674) A.D. He was the nephew of the Minister Madanna. He was the founder of Ram Mandir at Bhadrachalam. In this Jail one find idols made by Ramdas with his own hand of Hanuman, Navagrah.

BARRAKS

In continuation of the barraks of the bodyguard, there is a pucca building of two stories which was the office of the ministry Akkanna and Madanna they were the minister of the last Abul Hasan Tana Shah who was the seventh and the last king in Qutub Shahi deynasty in Deccan.

VIEW OF BODYGUARD

From the gate out this garden goes a narrow passage and to the left of it there is a building of masonry constructions which were the barracks of the bodyguard.

ELLAMMA DEVI TEMPLE

This is a temple constructed during the time of the ministers Akkanna and Madanna and king the Abul Hasan Tana Shah, This is the temple of Durga Devi of Mahakali and a fare is held in every Ashsd month where pilgrms come here thousands from twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

RANI MAHEL

Rani Mahal, located in Golconda Fort, is a vaulted hall on raised terrace, decorated with lovely floral arabesque. Hollows in these carvings were once inlaid with Golconda’s famous diamonds and other precious stones.
