Praveen Kakkar: Many qualities play a role in the personality development of a human being. Discipline is paramount among all these qualities. Because in the absence of discipline it does not take long for even virtues to turn into vices. But self-discipline is a greater achievement than discipline. Discipline is something that the system or another person tells a person to do and explains to follow it, whereas self-discipline is imposed by the person himself.

When a child studies in school, the discipline is to reach school on time in the morning, wear clean clothes, attend prayers, complete homework on time, attend exercise class and participate in sports activities on time. Is part of. This discipline is imposed by the school management or teachers on the student. But when the same child goes from school to college, the uniform ends, why? Because he is expected to implement the discipline he has been taught in school for 12 years in his own conduct. In such a situation, just telling him the dress code is enough.

When the same child comes out of college and enters public life after attaining adulthood, there is no one there to impose discipline on him like a school teacher or a college professor. Every office and work has a discipline. Any person is expected to follow some discipline willingly and happily. If that person does not follow the discipline then he is not taught. Either he falls behind in his work or punitive action is taken against him.

But a person who works with self-discipline is liked by his entire office and colleagues. He is able to complete the work on time and becomes popular day by day. Those who discipline themselves, even if there are any other deficiencies in their behavior or talent, self-discipline is a force that covers those deficiencies and takes them forward.

From the experience of working in the police service for a long time, I know that there are many people who were very talented but could not progress much in their career due to lapses in discipline, whereas people who followed discipline could move up the ladder of promotion. Kept climbing. Self-discipline is even more important in the corporate world, because there it is not only important to complete the working hours but what is most important is whether you are able to complete the target given to you within the stipulated time or not.

In between that time limit, no one tells you nor asks you to work fast. There is no one from outside to impose discipline on you. If you miss your target, your rating automatically decreases and your office starts considering you less worthy. Self-discipline is the only key to success in the corporate world. Therefore, let us all keep ourselves organized even in the most difficult times and complete our work within the time limit.
