Pablo, you just found the right medium to tell the world how the design team really functions! I can identify with every frame in this post, and have also some amusing experiences with co-workers who question what process to follow.
Process is important, & i have had to use different processes for different projects at the same company for 3 years. For one project, I pursued the whole design process from research to visual design to final prototype, but it was too much for project managers and I had to break it down into phases which they can ship in sprints. For another project, I spent less time on research and more on ideation and wireframing, since it was a redesign process and I was already aware of the data and the user’s pain points.
End of the day, I feel it’s good to have a process to follow, but it is also possible to come up with solutions with only a few steps, given your confidence and knowledge of how things work at the workplace.
And OMG. Your comments on the prototyping tools sounds exactly like my post on prototyping!
