My Next Big Step

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” -Eleanor Roosevelt

I have recently come to a decision on what to do with my life… at least the next few months of it. I have recently accepted an internship in Oxford, U.K. I will be leading and teaching service design and industrial design to an all boys boarding school. For 15 weeks, I will be working with these students and Radley College Professors to help them with their design careers.

I am really excited to bring my different design thinking techniques of Service Design, Biomimicry, and Industrial Design, and that one class that I took in UX, to a school that focuses heavily on fabrication. But, I am super excited to push myself and become a better fabricator. I will be able to bring a lot to Radley, but I am more excited to see how much I can learn and grow from them! I hope to learn how to be a better teammate and leader. Mainly, I am going to learn and explore what my next steps should be. I will be taking on a personal project, which I have not decided yet, but I think I’m going to let my experience and research guide me.

This will be awesome because I get to follow my dream, work abroad, research abroad, and indulge in a foreign culture. (all at once…I mean WHAT?)

If you want to follow along with my journey, I plan on doing a blog post a week to update you on my project, my new U.K. Phrases, and all of the fun things I am doing!
