Pike Place Market, Seattle’s Gem
PikePlace Market is a must-have fun experience in a century old America’s one of the biggest and oldest Farmers’ Market
I often heard the names “Seattle” and “Pike Place Market” mentioned together. Our hotel was conveniently located downtown, just a seven-minute walk from the market. After checking in and dropping off our bags, we eagerly set out to explore the city.
Like San Francisco, another large ocean-front city which I’ve often visited, Seattle’s cityscape is characterized by steep and bumpy roads. If you stand on Fourth Avenue, you’ll see a fairly narrow, steeply descending road flanked by high-rise buildings, leading to the waterfront. The streets are bustling with people — tourists leisurely strolling, while some locals hurry to or from work, and many others wait for buses.
The lively atmosphere, the multitude of buses on the road, and the towering buildings reminded me of Mumbai, a place very close to my heart. This triggered a wave of nostalgia, and gave me positive vibes of this city.
