Looks like many in the Bay Area disagree — see the comments in the San Jose Mercury News. As many point out, there are many places to live in the Bay Area that aren’t so expensive.
But the big companies — Facebook, Google, Palintir, Apple — insist on putting enormous numbers of employees in one place, straining these suburban cities to the limits. Redwood City, Palo Alto, Mountain View and many other small cities were never intended to support this concentration. It’s abuse by big business.
