She’s a living lyric, all rhythm and couplet and song.

She’s a composition of down notes and up notes, of melodies crafted in the dark spaces of hardship and trial. Yes, the soft can come from the hard.

She’s the perpetual muse, the woman that folks turn to, even when they don’t know what they’re turning to.

She’s that black-gold sound on heavy ears and silent tears. She’s the verse that sages carry in their pockets. She’s Earth Mother Poem.

She’s also me.
