The Kevin Durant Narrative Is Unfair

I agree with you, Bill. Kevin Durant didn’t take the “coward’s way out.” He’s still going to have to work just as hard as he always has. He’s still going to have to put up tens of thousands of shots during the offseason. He’s still going to have to arrive three hours before every game. He’s still going to have to endure the aches and pains of a 82 game season. Despite probably not touching the ball as much next season as he did his entire career, he’s still going to want to work just as hard as he always has. Winning a championship is never easy. Ask MJ, who saw all but one of his finals’ series go six games. Ask Lebron, who saw his “super team” go 2–2 in the finals. Whoever says Durant is taking the easy way out is out of their minds. Of course his chances are better with the Warriors than Thunder, but with Golden State losing size, by no means is winning a title going to be easy for Durant and the Warriors.
