You’re right about players first with UK vs. program first with nearly every other school. If you’re a Wildcat fan, you have to hate this deep inside of you. Every year you know that your coach’s number one goal is to get players paid as much as they can as soon as they can rather than hanging a banner. This ultimately affects the play on the court — what type of plays are run and who is on the floor. And this makes Kentucky fans play dearly. Calipari even admitted he left the Harrison twins on the court too long in UK’s lost to Wisconsin in the 2015 Final Four. He explained he had too much loyalty for those two players. This is proof that Coach Cal’s philosophy costs the Kentucky faithful championships.
