“If you spend all day obsessing over bad news, when will you have time to do anything about it?”

I think it’s important to differentiate the vastness of national news/politics and the smaller scale local politics where every day people can make an impact. It’s much easier to knock on some doors for a city counselor you like or attend a union picnic than be consistently engaged in what is happening in Congress and the White House. The stress isn’t there, the blind partisanship is usually lower, and it impacts the community right around you. Go meet your mayor or school board member. Most local politicians are interested in talking with you.
