The Fashion Industry is expanding which also means modernization with western culture gaining importance day by day. But with this modernization , the traditional dressing in India have not lost it’s essence in the Indian Fashion Industry. We all know that India is a country of diverse cultures , religions and people which are in large numbers and hence the list of traditional clothing in India is not limited. Different cultures have different traditional dresses , each of which has their own significant relation to their culture.

There are a number of traditional dresses in India like sari, salwaar kameez , lehenga or ghagra choli, mekhla chador, etc for women and Dhoti, lungi, kurta pyjama, sherwani, angarkha ,etc for men. The style in which these traditional clothings are worn differs in various cultures.

Nowadays , with people going modern we have observed various customizations in our traditional clothings. The fusion of Indo-western is a growing fashion trend. Everyone wants to wear traditional clothes but with a modern twist in it. A common example of this trend is wearing jeans or pants with kurtas or adding a dupatta to a western outfit.

The Indian clothing has become a fashion statement in the world fashion industry. We have seen many International celebrities sporting Indian traditional outfits. Recently we saw Kim Kardashian in Sabyasachi Saree in the Vogue India’s new issue. Youngsters today love to follow what is in fashion and the Indian fashion industry never fails to customize Indian clothings according to new fashion and trends.
