A wise choice by NYTimes to try to balance the opinion pages in a liberal newspaper, like they have always done, with conservative writers like Safire and Brooks. We are seeing the same trend in other media, like CNN and NBC. If you think you can reverse this process by intimidation, think again. Your writing style is the exact reason for why media feel the need to balance what they publish. Bret Stephens is by no measure “extreme”, but it is obvious that you are.

What you need to do now is hone your tools, since what you say is no longer taken as gospel. I would recommend toning down your voice and actually engaging in debate. But you will probably become even more shrill, as that’s the only way you know.
