Denmark is also dependent not only on coal but on backup from Sweden with hydro and nuclear. Especially on cold windless winter days.

Otoh, they sometimes have such a large surplus of power in the Summer that the price goes negative — they have to pay for what they produce.

Not an ideal solution.
