I dont think one should be passionate about any kind of energy source. Not nuclear, not renewables, not fossils. Our welfare was built on access to cheap energy, first coal then oil and gas. We should allow the rest of the world to do the same trip, preferrably not relying on fossils. So I am not against progress in solar.

But we have a surplus production in Summer here. Increasing the surplus while making the clean power stations that generate our eletricity in winter unprofitable is simply foolish. The German Energiewende is showing just that.
