Primalbase Advisory Board Update, Current Tasks & Meetup in Amsterdam
As we have said many times before, Primalbase is a project about the infrastructure and community, and first of all about the Blockchain community. When we talk about this, it’s probably right to look at the biggest community at the moment in the field of Blockchain — the Ethereum community. And thus, It is reasonable to have a representative of this community in the project. When I talked to Vitalik Buterin about it, I did not even have any doubts whether to invite him or not — he is the leader of the Ethereum followers. It is indicative — where the leaders look, the community looks too as a whole. We wanted to draw attention of the Blockchain audience to this Blockchain project. And I think we did it.
As the Primalbase project is about the infrastructure for the community and about the development of the community as a whole, then the key Blockchain communities will undoubtedly benefit from the development of Primalbase. They will have a closer connection between each other, joint projects can be born around this. This is a very interesting physical interpretation of what we now see online.
Primalbase Advisory Board update
Vitalik was not initially endowed with any technical tasks, there was no role here in creating a formula, a model, a technical implementation of any kind because we utilize fairly simple, already known tools. His role was that of the leader of one of the world’s largest communities in the area of Blockchain. He liked and likes our project, it makes sense for him — an interesting interpretation of how Blockchain can move into the real world. It will be very interesting to see. The solution is quite simple. It should work. This is exactly what we are talking about. Let’s take simple decisions, implement them, then we’ll see what happens and we will develop it further on. It is important now to take simple steps and show that it’s possible to implement Blockchain. There is no sense in destroying the old things, you do not need to be a nihilist. It is necessary to act steadily. Take simple decisions, implement them, see what happens, develop the success. That’s what we are doing.
Based on the current situation that we see on the market, for those projects that use a similar form of fundraising to attract capital, we see now a great deal of excitement, we see the growth and development of completely different projects, completely different directions in completely different spheres. And in connection with this excitement, there is a lot of attention to ICOs. Projects attract millions of dollars, the market tightens day by day.
We talked with Vitalik, and he says that a huge number of projects that run on Ethereum want and require attention. We understand the situation, and it’s just his decision not to participate in supporting the future ICOs, so as not to create an artificial excitement and this decision needs to be supported. It’s just an official position that does not cancel anything else. It does not cancel communication, advice, personal point of view.
As for who is now participating in the board of advisors — Sasha Ivanov and Dmitry Tokarev — these are the guys who initially have great support in developing the technology and business model. I think that the number and composition of advisors at the moment will not change. We have a set of tools for the implementation of this project already, we no longer need anything else. With our model, everything is clear. Everything is also clear with how it is necessary to put this model into life in the future. Most likely, we will see a certain number of individuals in supporters including those from the Ethereum Foundation. We must understand that this is a project about the community. There will be guys who will be our ambassadors here.
Recently there was only one question — is Vitalik involved or not? Does he know or he doesn’t? Of course, he knows, of course, he participates. On the one hand, we understand that a lot of attention at the moment is drawn to the opinion leaders. We naturally knew that it could happen, but our original task is to bring together the best expertise, the most important communities, with their leaders, those who represent the communities — it’s important to do it from the very beginning.
This current situation is related to the hype around ICOs and some projects. Now the market is very active, there is a rush. The stated official position does not apply to us, but as a whole, to this current ICO market. The role of Vitalik in Primalbase has not changed — neither as a community provider, nor as someone who privately supports us and similar projects in general. His role was that of a community guide — to show, to draw attention to the place for the development of Blockchain projects, for collaboration between them, for creating new products, for blockchain implementation in new spheres, for the birth of new interesting things. This continues to be so.
Current tasks for Primalbase — infrastructure and community
At the moment we have two tasks. We want to create a convenient infrastructure for the work and development of technological projects, not just Blockchain projects. These are projects from the financial sphere, marketing, media projects, architecture, R&D labs, individual small teams. They will work in Primalbase and develop on an ongoing basis. On the other hand, we want to build a community not with a focus on, but rather benefits for Blockchain projects. Blockchain should not exist by itself, boil in its cauldron. It must develop, must be implemented in many different sphere. At the junction of Blockchain and other technologies, new products, new interesting solutions, new interesting projects should be born. They are made by people, the solutions are offered by people — Primalbase will become a platform where these people interact with each other, develop, come up with new things. It will be interesting to see and participate in. We are very interested in making it happen.
In regards with these tasks, nothing has changed here. We just answered the question of people — what is happening. I’m happy that it has happened this way. I understand the role of the individual in history, the leaders of opinions, but here the basis is more important, the essence of the project is important. Primalbase is a project for everyone who develops Blockchain, who sees it as something meaningful, who would like to apply it.
These are the tasks for the moment. I do not see what can stop us. I’m glad that this issue was closed. And now we can calmly talk about the essence of the product, people can breathe out and look at it more deeply, see our plans, documents, explore the business model, understand why we do it and why. Imagine what happens when we implement this project. We will move very quickly and quickly get the required results. They will not take long to wait, because this is a very logical development of current events. We must look deeper and move together.
Why ICO? We have chosen an interesting way to attract capital. Anyone who has developed shared workspaces project will agree with me that this is a difficult market to launch on. Everyone is happy to give money later, when everything grows, when we develop, scale the business model. But in the beginning it is a very complicated process. Often, many have to invest their own money. Then there is a difficult period of adaptation, development and only after that they manage to attract capital. This is what we see in the classic real estate relations. We have a lot of expertise in Blockchain technology. What now works well on Blockchain is crowdfunding. We are making a very interesting financial tool out of it (out token). We are talking about a large number of people in crowdfunding, who subsequently will become a core community.
Again we solve the same 2 problems — we do not just attract capital. We create an infrastructure and a core community around which this will all be further developed. We solve these problems in one place — ICO. Nobody has used Blockchain in real estate before. This is a very large area around the world. We are making a small revolution here. If we succeed, then there will be a lot of decisions around this. Then it will continue, many will follow us, they will use our experience. We want this direction to develop, Blockchain fits perfectly here. This is a technological response to the current challenge in a real estate business. We can change the relationships between landlords, financial institutions that credit them or invest in them and the end user. We can change a lot here. Many will be interested in looking at our experience — using it, adapting it to themselves. It is very important.
Another point is that we make a financial instrument from the lease, we make it an investment because rental is a possession for a certain period. In this interesting, easy, and fast way, we turn the rental out of an expense into an investment. Nobody has done it before.
Why Blockchain community should meet offline too sometimes
We are talking about the Blockchain community as some organism living and developing online. It develops, evolves, it becomes even greater. It is justified for it to go offline too. We are ready to have our own infrastructure, our physical platforms for communication, now this is happening. Primalbase will somehow institutionalize it. On our platform, many interesting projects and solutions will develop, the teams will find each other, this will be an important component we will be working on.
We need to meet each other, see each other, see who is who and where we are going.
