Hi, I’m Nora B. Hyun Kim’s parents are dear friends of my family (Chai, formerly Chae). I’m biracial and have never felt Korean enough for the Asians. But always too Asian for the white kids. At the funeral for my 할아버지, Dr. Kim said to me, “Nora. Even though your grandpa is gone: you have been, and will always be Korean.” That has made a huge impact on how I view myself. This article touched my heart. to Hyun : You’re parents are lovely, and I’m glad you’re so close to them. They are remarkable people.
