Yes, Robert, a possessive is an adjective. But then there are those plural adjectives that described something and not necessarily possess it. Like a group of writers may be called a writers group because it’s composed of writers, or it could be called a writers’ group because it belongs to them. I took Allan’s usage to be descriptive because it described the group.
Also, I didn’t choose my name. It was given to me by my parents. And I was neither a librarian nor an English teacher; I was an editor.
As for the meat of your response, you’re probably right, but don’t forget that Allan writes satire. And I suppose if it bothers you, you’re free to not read it.
