People vs. Pandemics | Connecting grassroots efforts against COVID-19 across America
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the news and our social media feeds have been inundating us with information — new details on the virus, projections of impact, government reactions, business reactions and their impact on the global population, and grassroots efforts springing up in every corner where neighbors are focused on helping one another.
With information flooding in from every direction, it can be difficult for the at-need population to find the information they’re seeking, and for those that would like to volunteer to find opportunities, and know what they can do.
That’s why we’re launching www.peoplevspandemics.com — a single landing page with the purpose to centralize and highlight the grassroots efforts and national initiatives so that in-need populations can find out what support exists in their area, and people can support them.
This effort was created by people with the luck thus far to maintain some sense of stability during this crisis, but were inspired and in awe of the energy and galvanizing of their local communities. It’s a combined effort between the Harvard grad students who created Students Vs. Pandemics, the director of Health and Innovation at Dalberg Design, mutual aid network leaders, myself (a Healthcare AI professional at GE), and YOU.
We’re standing up the website now so we reach the populations who need it quickly — but we need help to get the word out.
