I would say that technically every time your eyes go through written word and your brain decodes what that written word means to you, you are in effect reading. I don’t think there’s first-class and second-class reading — it’s all about inputting and absorbing information which may or may not be useful to you in some way.

In other words, you can easily find a Medium (or anywhere on the web, really) article that is infinitely more valuable to you than a given book and vice-versa. For me it’s all about optimizing the time spent decoding information. I want to take longest time taking in the best information.
