Great piece. In any civilisation piece. Let’s not forget Indian Civilisation — 5000 years and going. As Gandhi retorted when asked what he thought of western Civilisation — I think it would be a good idea !

And secondly, let’s not mix American civilisation with western. The latter is older, deeper and richer and is predominantly European in narrative.
