5 of 2015’s Most Spectacular Building Projects

These buildings are as inspiring as they are diverse, and represent some of the best architecture that has been seen around the world this year. Check out a few of these breathtaking construction projects below:

1.) Shimao Wonderland Intercontinental — Songjiang, China
This hotel is still under construction and is being built on the site of an abandoned quarry. Opened this year, this hotel features numerous rooms that are underwater.

2.) Mexico City International Airport — Mexico City
This new airport will replace Mexico City International Airport. It features one large terminal that will be a massive 6,000,000 square feet, on a total lot of nearly 12,000 acres.

3.) Al Noor Tower — Casablanca, Morocco
Construction is underway on this structure and if it hits the expected completion date in 2018, this building will be the tallest building in Africa.

4.) 432 Park Avenue Luxury Apartments — New York City
432 Park Avenue is a residential building in Midtown Manhattan. Developed by CIM Group, this building has 104 condominium apartments that span over 88 floors. This building tops 1,396 feet and was completed this year.

5.) Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, UTS Business School — Sydney, Australia
Opened earlier this year, this tower is named after Dr Chau Chak Wing who donated 20 million toward the project. This story tower provides teaching, learning, research, and accommodation for roughly 1,300 students and academic staff.
