Bringing a new baby home is an exciting and fun time for a couple or family. Babies change and grow by the day, and hiring a Denver Baby Photographer is the ideal way to capture this moment in time. As a new parent, you finally understand why other parents advise you to treasure these first weeks. Your baby will grow at a fast pace. It won’t be too long before they’re a toddler, and you’ll be unable to recall how soft their skin was, or how their sleepy neck fit perfectly on your shoulder as you rocked them to sleep. This is where newborn photo sessions come in handy — preserving these priceless, fleeting moments.

Your newborn’s photography session should be a joyous occasion for your entire family. However, parents are frequently concerned and anxious about preparing themselves and their children for the big event. You can relax and enjoy the session knowing that all of your bases are covered with a little prior planning. Generations from now, you’ll be thankful you scheduled a newborn photo session because you’ll be able to revisit the days when you didn’t have to share your child with the rest of the world.

Follow our below discussed top suggestions to ensure that you and your baby have a memorable session that captures this special time in your lives.

Feeding and Rest Breaks

Feeding breaks are necessary for newborns throughout the photo session, especially if they are fussy or upset. With a quick meal and some cuddling, your little boy or girl will be ready for the spotlight once more!
It is beneficial if you feed your baby prior to the photo session. A happy, model-ready baby equals warm milk! Hungry babies cry and wake up frequently. For quick cleanups, keep extra wipes, diapers, blankets, and trash bags on hand.

keep your baby awake before the session

It goes without saying that infants sleep a lot. However, their sleeping patterns do not always cooperate with our plans. Keep your little one up for a while before your photographer arrives if you want them to be sacked out during the photo session so you can get those adorable sleepy newborn poses.

Keeping your baby awake prior to a session is a great way to ensure they will sleep through the majority of it. This will result in more peaceful images, rather than ones in which they appear enraged or red-faced from crying.
Temperature

Babies who are naked become cold. One of the most important newborn photo session tips for parents is to keep the baby warm. We recommend raising the temperature in your home to a comfortable 80 degrees Fahrenheit about 30 minutes before your session begins. If you prefer, space heaters work well as well. The warmer temperature should help your newborn sleep and be happy.
Speaking of naked babies, if you want cute newborn photos without a diaper, loosen the diaper a little before we arrive. This will eliminate any uncomfortable diaper lines and the need for later retouching.

Wardrobe

Change your baby’s diaper into a clean, loose (but not too loose) diaper and swaddle them at least 30 minutes before the session. It also means that you will not disturb their sleep cycle by attempting to remove their clothing. A diaper that is too big is preferable because it prevents diaper marks around their waist.

The best way to avoid waking them up is to change their diaper, swaddle them, and then feed them. You’ll be dealing with everything at once. If they’re breastfed (or bottle-fed), they’ll be able to calm down quickly and most likely fall asleep immediately after (if not during) their meal.
