How To Deal With Negative People: Two Super Easy Tips

“I was quiet but not blind.” -Jane Austen

Numerous studies show that your success or lack thereof is directly connected to the types of people you surround yourself with. Your Social community matters, and if you find yourself drowning in stagnation without any progressive steps forward, you may need to look no further than the immediate faces in your vicinity.

More important than that perhaps is the state of mind, the condition of your everyday mental and physical health — and how destabilizing it can be when your environment is polluted with cynicism, toxicity, and little encouragement.

I don’t differentiate mindset from every other avenue of our lives, and as a matter of fact I advocate that your mindset is the pillar and barometer for how optimal your professional life, family life, and social life are.

Negative people come in all guises, and we may misunderstand “honesty” or “brutal truths” — or more apt — make assumptions that negative people are not being negative, that they are actually giving value and offering their sincere, constructive take when in fact they may inadvertently be derailing any move in the right direction.

Family members are probably the best at it. And the least called out.

I would venture that true constructive criticism never weakens the position of the receptor but rather, enhances their viewpoint and perspective to clearly see the value inherent that is being offered.

It is much more collaborative in scope and when someone arrives from that space of true caring offering their input, both parties feel that and there is little suspicion as to whether or not one is being attacked with “honesty.”

In other words, if you’re wondering, or questioning it, more than likely its not constructive or coming from a place of genuine concern.

In this video below I went live on my YouTube channel to discuss two very effective methods to deal with these types of individuals.

Real, practical, and applicable tips you can use today. Please make sure to leave some comments and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
