A Better Education for a Better Europe

Professor Salvatore Messina, President of the Technical and Scientific Committee of the Croatian Foundation Zaklada Europa, organised “A Better Education for a Better Europe” an International Conference which has been held in Locarno, Switzerland on Saturday, October 8, 2016.

The Conference has been preceded by the installation of the Technical and Scientific Committee of the Department for European Studies “Jean Monnet”. The Department was created in Locarno, Switzerland by Swiss branch of Zaklada Europa together with the Rijeka and Osijek Croatian State Universities and intervened proactively in the European debate on culture, scientific research, education, local development and employment. Other topics of discussion included the presentation of degree courses in Medicine, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Nursing, Nursing Sciences, and International Business available in English at the aforementioned Croatian State Universities starting on November 1, 2016 in Locarno, in partnership with Italian and American Universities.

Conference schedule:

Thursday, October 6:

7:00pm — Get together cocktails followed by dinner.

Friday, October 7:

9:30am — Transfer to the Department for European Studies for registration.

10:00am — 1:00pm — Meeting of the Technical Scientific Committee to discuss the definition of the mission and operation criteria; regulations approval; nomination of the components of the subcommittees in medicine, nutrition, physiotherapy, nursing, international business, tourism, job placement.

1:00pm — 2:00pm — Lunch.

2:00pm — 5:00pm — Meetings of the subcommittees.

5:00pm — 7:00pm — Plenary session; evaluation of the proposals submitted by the subcommittees.

7:00pm — End of the workday. Transfer to the hotel.

8:30pm — Dinner

Saturday, October 8:

9:30am — Transfer to the Conference Hall for registration.

10:00am — 1:00pm — Welcoming and Greeting speaches; Presentation of the international conference “Better Education for a Better Europe” and Keynote speakers.

1:00pm — 2:00pm — Light Lunch.

2:00pm — 6:00pm — Participants presentations.

6:00pm — 6:30pm — Conference conclusions.

6:30pm — Transfer to the hotel.

8:00pm — Transfer to closing dinner.

Sunday, October 9:

9.30am — 1:00pm — Informal meeting of the subcommittee members of the scientific and technical committee.

1:00pm — Lunch

Transfer to Milan and Bergamo airports.
