Who are we?
We’re Maia, Laura, and Gloria, Stanford product design seniors passionate about making the world a kinder and more compassionate place.
We’re women, we’re daughters, we’re sisters, and each of us grew up surrounded by strong, empathetic women — our mothers, teachers, and friends taught us the importance of supporting and listening to other women with an open mind and an open heart.
At Stanford, we learned a ton about the human-centered design thinking process, pioneered by the d.school and design firms like IDEO. We absolutely love building empathy with our users and understanding their core needs, and this deeper connection with people allows us to build more effective, human-centered products. Throughout our time at Stanford, we applied these tools to social impact projects in organizations like Design for America and CS + Social Good, groups that focus on driving Stanford students to use their skills to help others. As we approached our senior capstone project, we knew that no matter the final product, we wanted to make a real impact on the users we worked with.
And that’s how Project Tulip was formed!
