Chapter 3
The Crew
The search for a new habitable planet was going to be no easy task. The Pentagon had decided that by using the world’s most rigorous IQ test they would find an exceptional being who would be able to provide hope and encouragement for the survival of Hooman kind. Unfortunately for Hoomanity this task would be placed on a scientist who’s as mad as they come. Otherwise known as Dr. Rugenstein. The IQ test could be seen as the first sign to success on the upcoming treacherous road ahead. Thus began the true purpose behind the IQ test… operation Interstellar Quest (IQ).
Without wasting a second more, Dr. Rugenstein was immediately flown back into the Pentagon’s secret star laboratory. Fortunately for Hoomanity it turned out that Dr. Rugenstein had been staring out at the cosmos his whole life and has always dreamed of finding another planet to go to.
What Hoomans didn’t know is that Rugenstein was already mining asteroids for their ores so he could run secret experiments in his own lab. Dr. Rugenstein always kept watch of asteroids rich in ores coming close to Earth. However, with asteroids rich in ores flying close to Earth being out of his control, his focus was always on finding a whole Earth like planet vastly filled with natural materials. After decades of research, Rugenstein had closed in on a planet in the Andromeda galaxy section D-808. Without the manpower needed Rugenstein thought that he would never be able to arrive at his desired planet. It came as a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the Hoomans that needed a new home as Dr. Rugenstein could finally create the travel path necessary to arrive there.
A crew was assembled based on Dr. Rugensteins instructions. A lead astronaut Pilot was brought on in order to guide the ship and help command the crew on board. Only one man was cut out for a job of this scale. A bright eyed young astronaut who scored at the top of his class, had high interest from a young age in engineering and astronomy and had always wanted to travel out into the unknown adventure of space. The man in question was astronaut Houston. Interestingly, Rugenstein assembled a crew which seemed incredibly diverse and perhaps in-capable of establishing a new colony on Earth 2.0. Rugenstein explained that individual traits and personalities are the key to building life on a new planet and without time to second guess his decision General Klein gave the orders to do as Rugenstein said.
Chapter 4
A galaxy not so far away
In order to reach the Andromeda galaxy, Hoomans would have to travel approximately 2.5 million light years to get there. A task which is quite literally impossible. Based on Dr. Rugensteins research, he theorized that if they could create a wormhole they would be able to bend space time in such a way that traveling from our current point in the milky way galaxy all the way to the Andromeda galaxy would only take 1 hour. This is how the plan was laid out;
- Houston would guide the space ship through the Van Allen radiation belt and past the moon
- The ship would attach itself onto the moon using multiple anchors and swing it once again away from Earth and towards the orbital direction of Venus
- A replacement moon which Dr. Rugenstein had designed in his lab would take the place of our current moon. Using nano tech powered by thermal energy the replacement moon would keep building upon itself in rapid succession until it reached the size and mass of our current moon.
- Releasing the anchors in a set way from our moon will make it begin spinning on a horizontal axis. The spin and the increasing acceleration will eventually put so much pressure on the moon that it will begin to collapse in on itself and create a black hole.
- The black hole will be stabilized through the use of exotic matter only Rugenstein understands how to harvest and will allow the Interstellar Quest team to safely pass through it before the wormhole collapses on itself.
- Solar sails will be deployed and once again guided by astronaut Houston the IQ team will be able to build up enough velocity to travel towards Earth 2.0 in section D-808 of the Andromeda galaxy.
On paper this all seemed like a very plausible way of traveling through space and without any other option but to dive into this mad plan, everybody agreed to the crazy adventure.
