Hero

What is a hero?
Is he merely a mortal man,
Or a symbol that lives for eternity?
What defines a hero?
Does he shepherd the weak,
And is he all that is good and just,
Or is he like us, fallible and conflicted?
A hero,
Is he real,
Or is he little more than an ideal,
A fantasy of the human spirit?
