In case you missed it: ProjectMQ helps gamers find video games they’ll LOVE!!!

Also, we shared our top Twitter strategies and Kickstarter tips with you on Imgur.

More than 70% of all video games are created by indie devs, yet indie games only make up 2% of the gaming industry’s global revenue. Sadly, as a result, the average indie dev makes less than $500 of revenue per year. …

As you may know, we bootstrap ProjectMQ with personal funds from our full-time jobs. Unfortunately, both of us got laid off from our day jobs last month, when MenuPad was acquired by PayMyTab. While this was an unexpected change for our schedule and plans, it presented an interesting opportunity for us.

With our newly available free time, we reviewed all the progress we’d made with ProjectMQ over the last 6 years, and considered new goals for 2019. Our birthday is early next month, on January 3rd. To celebrate, we’re launching ProjectMQ on a new platform, to help take our indie game community to the next level. Tune in here, Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn for the major announcement. …

Wow, these last 6 months flew by. If you’ve been following our blog, you may be asking yourself “didn’t they say they’d do monthly updates?”. Well, we have a little bit of bad news, and plenty of great news. The bad news is: we’ve obviously missed our monthly newsletter for every month since April. Though, it was for several important reasons, hence the good news:

ProjectMQ in National Startup Accelerator

The first piece of great news is: we got accepted into an awesome startup accelerator over the Summer. Tampa Bay Wave is a non-profit, non-equity accelerator, and part of a prestigious global network that only accepts about 3% of their startup applicants worldwide. …

Ok, we know these probably feel like annual updates, but we promise to get these newsletters back on a monthly schedule. We tip our hat to all of the other bootstrapping entrepreneurs, who juggle their startup responsibilities with their families and full-time jobs. We have some EPIC announcements to share, but first we want to give a quick shout out to Malcolm.

Giving Back To Our Alma Mater (The Real GSU)

Welcome back! How many weeks has it been since our 2nd newsletter? Meh, I’ve lost track of time, but for good reason. We’ve been productively busy; last week, we were invited to come speak at Georgia Southern University. It was an honor to give back to our Alma Mater, and the students really enjoyed our conversation about startups, ProjectMQ, and tips to growth hack your college career.

The picture above is from our talk. Unfortunately, we couldn’t record the entire talk, because Malcolm accidentally forgot the charger to the camcorder (good job, bro), but the slides are still helpful all the same. …
