Traveling quite literally to the other side of the world to meet leading blockchain professionals in Berkeley

The long journey from Berlin to California is well worth it when you can connect with leading cryptographic professionals, network with top VC firms and meet engineers from Oracle.

We are happy to announce that we were selected to the spring 2019 batch of the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator, a prestigious gathering of some of the best minds and leading companies in the blockchain space.

What is Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator?

Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator is an acceleration program by the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). The UC Berkeley was listed among the top 10 blockchain universities by CoinDesk. Why is ZkSystems part of the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator?

ZkSystems has developed a scalable blockchain protocol tailored for Industrial IoT. We work with enterprises such as Telefonica and Bosch to deliver the perfect mix of scalability (with thousands of transactions per second) and integration into ERP and enterprise payment systems. Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator provided us with the perfect chance to present our unique consensus algorithm to leading engineers, cryptographers, investors and enterprise professionals.

Our experience with the program

Being selected to the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator opened up unique opportunities for ZkSystems. For us it was an incredible experience to fly to the other side of the world and meet with leading programmers and cryptographers, meet new potential enterprise customers on the US market and arrange meetings with top tier Silicon Valley VCs.

Turing Award winning computer scientist and MIT Professor Shafi Golfwasser and ZkSystems’ CTO Amine Ünal

Berlin is famous in Europe for its blockchain startups and excellent developers, but a hotspot like Berkeley provides unparalleled opportunities to meet the brightest minds in tech:

  • We discussed promising partnerships with Oracle and other global companies to offer our blockchain infrastructure to their clients.
  • Personal highlight of our CTO was presenting ZkSystems to the Turing Award winning computer scientist and MIT Professor Shafi Golfwasser.
  • We presented ZkSystems at the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator Demo Day to VCs and enterprises from Silicon Valley.
  • We cooperated with UC Berkeley’s research group to publish a peer-reviewed paper about ZkSystems’ consensus algorithm.
  • We have attended brilliant events like ZK Day 2019.
