Crogecoin — Use Case
Crogecoin was launched on Cronos Chain on March 15, 2022 and quickly gained attention from the community due to its unique design and dedicated team. As one of the first memecoins to be released on Cronos, it stood out among the competition.
Crogecoin quickly made a strong start, reaching a market cap of $500k just two days after its launch on March 17. Other memecoins took notice of Crogecoin’s success and tried to replicate it, bringing the first hint of a new meme season on Cronos Chain.
Protocol Builders reached out to Crogecoin on March 16 to offer our services, including the development of a custom dapp for Cronos Chain. This would be our first time creating a dapp for this particular blockchain, and we explained this to Jack, the founder of Crogecoin.
Jack agreed to work with Protocol Builders to create the Crogecoin dApp. The dapp included several useful tools for the Cronos ecosystem, such as a Portfolio Tracker, Rug Checker, Watchlist, and Multichart. In order to access all the dApp’s features without restrictions, users needed to hold a small amount of $CROGE in their wallets. This unique offering quickly put Crogecoin ahead of its competitors, as all Cronos Chain users needed to hold a small amount of $CROGE in order to automatically and real-time monitor their portfolio and use others utilities.
The launch of the Crogecoin dApp was a success, and within a few days, the project reached a market cap of 10 million. This helped to increase the popularity of the Cronos network, leading to a Cronos Season with Crogecoin at the forefront.
Crogecoin reached a market cap of 25 million and, eager to continue setting trends, turned to Protocol Builders to create the first P2E game on Cronos Chain: Croge River. The game’s maximum mint of 5000 Crocs sold out within hours, and Croc owners received daily rewards in $WCRO and $CROGE.
Crogecoin quickly gained popularity and reached a market cap of 70M, cementing its place as one of the biggest memecoin launches of 2022. Despite the bear market, the Crogecoin community remains active with collectors of Crocs and NFTs (which were later added to the Croge River game) discussing the Croge River game on a daily basis.
Meme coins with a strong community can reach a high level, but the combination of a strong community and usefulness is really unbeatable. Crogecoin reached high numbers for a time when meme coins no longer reached a high market value and on a relatively new blockchain with limited use. During its peak, Crogecoin was responsible for over 25% of all transactions across the entire Cronos network daily.
