For This Republican, Never Trump Means “I’m With Her”

2008 was a great year for the presidency in that we had 2 great candidates. Putting aside Palin, Personally I felt no particular worry about a McCain victory vs an Obama victory, with both promising to be a competent president in a time when that felt like a relative rarity. By that time, my opinion was that voting was much less important to each campaign than the amount I could donate.

Perhaps one bright spot of this election with our mutually distrusted candidates and crappy choices is that we’ve come to a kind of post-money politics where so much money is available that neither side can gain an advantage by it and so our votes wind up mattering.
